Reader’s Theater Original Play
In READ magazine, we were constantly dreaming up new ways in which to entice students with the classics. We delivered Shakespeare, Poe, and Twain in a myriad of different stories over the years. In the writing of this play, I placed the three literary icons (along with Emily Dickinson and Langston Hughes) in an American Idol type setting, hence the title. It was a novel idea that stemmed from a collaboration of minds including the other editors and designers on READ. That is to say that the concept was a team effort that resulted in my writing it.
